No. BCHR (Careviel HR) is used by CQC-regulated care providers AND non-care organisations — recruitment firms, logistics companies, hospitality groups, professional services, and any SME managing UK workers. The CQC-specific features (CQC Dashboard, regulatory notifications, care plans, EMAR) come from the optional Careviel Care plugin. If you install only BCHR + Agency Booking, you get a full HR / sponsor licence / rota / agency platform with no CQC framing.

Three broad groups: (1) CQC-regulated care providers — domiciliary, supported-living, residential — who use Care + HR + Carer + Agency together; (2) Sponsor-licence holders across any sector — IT services, hospitality, food production, construction — who use BCHR for Home Office compliance and general HR; (3) Recruitment and staffing agencies who use BCHR + Agency Booking as their core back-office. Each group sees only the features that are relevant.

They auto-hide when the Careviel Care plugin is not installed. If you only need workforce management, sponsor licence compliance, and agency booking, install BCHR + Agency Booking and skip Care entirely — the CQC dashboard, care plans, and EMAR will never appear in your interface.

The Carer App (used by either carers in a care setting OR field workers in any sector) is the staff-facing mobile experience. Workers use it to view their rota, clock in and out with geofence verification, complete training, see compliance reminders, log daily notes and read updates from the office. It works on any modern phone in the browser — no app store install required.

Agency Booking lets organisations manage temporary staff requests with their external recruitment partners. Office staff create shift requests, send them to one or more agencies, confirm placements, and auto-generate weekly timesheets for agency invoicing. Agencies log into a partner portal to view requests and confirm worker availability. Equally useful for care providers booking nurses and for general SMEs booking warehouse or admin temps.

You can use any combination. They share users and infrastructure when installed together, but each one stands on its own. Care providers typically start with Care or HR. Non-care organisations typically start with HR and add Agency Booking later. The Carer App is included with HR for staff-facing self-service.

No. Hosting is included for the trial and during normal use. The only thing not included is third-party services you choose to layer on (e.g. paid SMS allowance, paid SMTP, paid SSO providers). Those are billed directly by the vendor at-cost.

Data is stored in UK-based data centres. The standard hosting partner is UK-hosted with daily encrypted backups, automatic SSL, and DDoS protection. Customers who require specific data-residency arrangements (e.g. NHS-grade) can request a private deployment.

Yes. The system implements lawful-basis records for personal data, supports data-subject access requests, gives you tools to export or erase individual records, and ships with an audit log of every access to sensitive data. A Data Processing Agreement is provided on request.

Access is role-based. Carers only see service users assigned to them; locality leads see their locality; registered managers and directors see everything for their organisation. Cross-organisation data sharing never happens — your data is isolated from every other provider on the platform.

A full database snapshot is taken nightly. Customers on the standard hosting partner retain 30 daily backups, 12 weekly, and 12 monthly. Customers can additionally trigger ad-hoc downloadable backups from the admin interface (JSON, SQL, ZIP and CSV formats) and select which data categories to include.

Yes — an annual penetration test by an independent assessor (CREST-accredited). Reports are available under NDA to prospective customers. The system also follows OWASP Top-10 guidance and has Cyber Essentials certification through IASME.

Yes. RTW tracking, visa expiry alerts, salary threshold monitoring, and SOC code adherence are all built in. Reports for the Home Office Compliance Officer visit can be exported in one click. This applies to every BCHR install, regardless of sector — care providers, IT consultancies, hospitality groups, anyone holding a sponsor licence.

Skilled Worker (including Health & Care Worker), Senior or Specialist Worker, Scale-up Worker, and Temporary Worker (Charity, Religious, Government Authorised Exchange). The system tracks the data points UKVI looks at during a compliance visit: certificate of sponsorship (CoS) reference, visa start and expiry dates, SOC code, current salary versus the going rate, working hours, and absences.

Configurable alerts at 90, 60, 30, 14, and 7 days. The HR manager gets an email; the dashboard shows a red flag; and the worker themselves can be notified through the Carer App. Once expired, the worker is automatically excluded from rota scheduling.

It exports the underlying data in the structure UKVI expects (start/end dates, changes of circumstances, absence reporting). You still file with SMS directly — the system does not connect to SMS automatically — but the data export turns what is normally hours of manual collation into a single download.

Every action against a worker record is timestamped and attributed to the user who performed it. Search and export by worker, by date range, or by action type. The audit log alone is often sufficient to satisfy a UKVI compliance officer that records are being kept and reviewed.

Your data is yours — exportable at any time in standard formats (JSON, CSV, SQL). On cancellation, you have 90 days to download the full export. After that the data is securely destroyed and a destruction certificate issued.

The platform runs on a secure PHP 8 cloud backend, with REST APIs powering React-based single-page admin interfaces. Mobile experiences are progressive web apps — they work in any modern browser, install to the home screen, and work offline for short windows.

Field carers retain limited offline functionality — they can view today's rota, draft daily logs and clock in/out — and the system syncs as soon as connectivity returns. Office functions require an internet connection.
